Conrad Electronics is one of the leading B2C and B2B electronics lines seller in Germany and Switzerland.

Founded in 1923, they’re constantly investing in digital transoformation.

My services, provided with Netcentric, A Cognizant Digital Business, consist on building their new released platform in Q2 2019 and making it suitable for all type of devices and countries around the world.

The technology stack is AEM + Micro Frontends architecture.

Scope of the work

The challenge was to make a large commerce platform usable across devices and countries. With a catalog of hundreds of thousands of products, the interface had to support very different customers and shopping contexts. The work happened through Netcentric and used Adobe Experience Manager alongside a micro-frontends architecture.

This page records the engagement rather than the full history of Conrad’s platform. It is one of several collaborations involving large organizations and digital transformation. The Kia engagement is another example of work delivered with Netcentric; the projects archive covers products I built separately.

Why scale mattered

Conrad’s catalog and cross-border audience made this more than a small storefront redesign. A platform intended for both professional and individual buyers had to work across screen sizes, purchasing contexts and countries. The project used Adobe Experience Manager for content and a micro-frontends approach for the interface. That architecture let different parts of a large customer experience be developed and presented as one platform.

The page describes the engagement as it was documented around the 2019 release. It does not imply that Conrad still uses the same implementation today. Readers can compare it with the Kia collaboration, another Netcentric engagement built on AEM, or browse the collaborations index for work using very different stacks.
