Anonymize My ID

anonymizemyid.com is a mobile app that makes a safe copy of an identity document — share your ID, not your identity.

Hotels, car-rental desks, landlords and visa forms all routinely ask for “a copy of your passport”. Handing over a clean scan means handing over every number on it. Anonymize My ID produces a version that proves who you are without exposing the fields that matter.

What it does

Photograph an ID card front and back, or a passport data page, or pick an existing photo. The app lays preset redaction bands over the fields that usually carry sensitive data; you drag, resize, add or delete boxes to cover exactly what you want. It then composites a safe copy you can save or share.

• 100% offline — all processing runs on-device with the system image engine. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and the original photo is never stored or sent anywhere.
• IDs and passports — front and back ID cards plus passport data pages, with preset sensitive-field bands.
• Fully editable redaction boxes — move, resize, add or delete.
• Blur, pixelate or solid bars — chosen per field.
• Partial redaction — reveal just the last digits of a number and hide the rest.
• Tamper-evident watermark — a tiled diagonal mark with custom text and opacity, plus black-and-white or colour output.

Privacy model

This is the whole point of the product, so it is worth being precise: there is no server, no account and no analytics on your documents. Compositing happens on a local canvas, image decoding uses the platform’s native codec, and the app ships no networking dependency at all. The only remote service involved is the store’s purchase validation.

Pricing

Free for two anonymizations per install — everything hidden, forced black-and-white with a watermark. A one-time unlock (roughly €4, no subscription) enables full control over what is hidden and how.

Tech stack

Flutter and Dart, one codebase for both platforms, with a custom dart:ui canvas compositing engine. There is deliberately no OCR — field positions are presets you adjust, which keeps everything local and predictable. RevenueCat handles the one-time purchase. The marketing site is Hugo, bilingual in English and Spanish, on Netlify.
